Children's Church is held during the Worship Service for children between the ages of 3 and 10 ( or through the 4th grade). The children start out by enjoying a time of worship with their families in the sanctuary, and are dismissed just before the "Special Music". The children will meet their teachers in the lobby, and are escorted to their classrooms in and around the Fellowship Hall.
After a time of prayer, the Preschool through early Kindergarten group heads off to experience an age-appropriate Bible lesson and some fun music. Our elementary classes enjoy a time of praise with our music director, and then also break into two groups: "Lower Elementary" which includes older Kindergarten through 2nd grade, and "Upper Elementary" which includes grades 3-4. (**Note that some early 5th graders continue to attend Children's Church at their parent's discretion, but transition to the regular worship services by the end of their 5th grade year).
Children's Church concludes with a little fellowship at the snack tables, giving parents and children a chance to get to know each other before going home after the service. Parents should meet their children in the Fellowship Hall after the Contemporary Service is finished.
Children's Church is designed to introduce young children to Jesus and the Bible. Throughout the school year we will work along a timeline starting in Genesis and ending in the Book of Acts. Our goal is to build a solid foundation of biblical truths as Jesus is revealed throughout His story. During the summer months, we change venues, with either a topical unit study, a Bible character study, or key stories that we have not covered during the school year.
It is a delight for both teachers and students as we discover more about our Lord and Savior together. We hope you will join us!
